How we work
Designed in, from the first conversation
Good integrated solar is decided early and detailed carefully. Our process is built to get the design and the planning right before anything reaches the roof — so the finished result performs and looks intentional.
Design consultation
We start with the building and the ambition, not a quote. We'll talk through the property, how the roof is seen, your energy goals and any planning sensitivities — and set out honestly what integrated solar can achieve here.
Survey & feasibility
A measured survey of the roof — pitch, orientation, structure, covering and access — establishes what's genuinely possible. We assess shading and output alongside appearance, so the design decisions that follow are grounded in fact.
Planning & consent
For heritage and conservation projects this is where the work is won or lost. We confirm the planning position — permitted development, listed-building consent, Article 4 or a full application — and prepare the design-and-access case, liaising with the conservation officer where needed.
Detailed design & specification
We select the right technology — solar tiles, BIPV or in-roof — and set the array out against the architecture. Integration details, junctions and cable routes are resolved into a clear specification the wider design and build team can work to.
Installation & integration
The system is installed as a considered piece of the building, coordinated closely with the roofer and trades so the integration is right first time. Clean margins, weathertight detailing and a roof that reads as one surface.
Commissioning & aftercare
We commission the system, hand over the documentation you'll need, and remain available afterwards. A well-integrated roof should be quietly generating for decades — and looking right the whole time.
The order matters. Because integrated solar forms part of the roof, the earlier we're involved, the better — and cheaper — the result. The ideal time to call us is while the drawings are still open.
